COVID-19 FAQs

As we all continue to navigate the changing tides posed by the ongoing pandemic, we wanted to take the time to update you on our priorities and plans at Achievement Learning Center, as well as how our work with your families will continue.

The safety of your family and our staff is our top priority...

The state continues to re-open businesses and we are monitoring CDC best practices to provide in-center tutoring on a limited basis. We appreciate your patience as we work through the best and safest way to return to business as usual. We've seen the education community shift quickly with effective online learning strategies, and we've been thrilled to be able to provide individualized and quality online tutoring during this time and will continue to offer and support these services for the foreseeable future.

Fatigue. We all feel it!

As the pandemic continues, increasing concerns of 'what do I do with the kids all day' is paramount as many of you return to work. Additionally, we know your kids are fatigued from the volume of online classroom learning asked of them in recent months. We are being intentional about safety for our community, our staff and your family as we undertake limited re-opening.

Our commitment to quality individualized tutoring continues...

Due to the nature of the individualized hands-on work we do in-center, we are navigating the best way to do that safely and effectively following CDC guidelines of cleanliness and safe distancing. Tutoring your child - especially the younger ones - can be a close contact experience that requires an extra level of thought, planning and precaution.

What you can expect from us:
  • We are gradually re-opening the Lakeway Center (beginning with our younger students) as we continue to monitor health and safety best practices - stay tuned...

  • We will continue to offer all tutoring services and Skill Boosters for older students online

  • We highly recommend the continuation of online tutoring for students and/or family members with compromised immune systems or who have been in high risk contact situations

  • We will provide COVID-19 prevention supplies (e.g., disinfecting wipes, antiseptic hand soap, hand sanitizer and tissues)

  • We will implement enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures - between tutoring sessions - for all student touch surfaces and objects

  • We ask that all students stay at home if exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms as outlined by the CDC or having come into close contact with someone displaying such symptoms

  • We are currently requesting that any adult and/or child 10 years or older wear their own cloth face mask (we only have a limited supply of disposable face masks available)

  • We will check the temperature of all students and staff entering the center for scheduled lessons and ask anyone exhibiting an elevated temperature not to enter the center

  • We ask that students wash their hands both before and after each session

  • We will modify student snack and water cooler access as appropriate

  • We will observe recommended 6 foot personal distance seating for students and limit overall center capacity

  • We ask that only one parent accompany students into the center and no siblings unless scheduled for tutoring themselves

  • Finally - we will keep you updated on any and all news that may impact your family and the ALC community at large
